Gratitude Journal ~ the original! App Reviews

I use this app every day and have been for months, but its incredibly slow to load and slow within the program. It wont allow me to edit the current days input after Ive finished. I have to close the app, open again, and try to quickly hit the edit icon before it disappears/stops working. Sometimes takes multiple attempts. (It edits fine if you go back a day or more.) The worst thing is how it has started dropping days. Its aggravating to write my gratitudes and then go the next day to discover they have been erased. The whole day is missing. It doesnt do it every day, just occasionally. I get the quote popup afterward and see the post, but when I go in the next day, its gone.

Ive been using the journal since 2008. It was simple and easy to use back then. No Facebook connection, no complexities to bog down the system. I have used this journal faithfully, and enjoyed looking back over my entries from the past 7 years, over 600 of them at last count. Logged in tonight to find them all gone. This is the second time its happened, and for an app that claims to increase happiness, it sure gives me anxiety. Please fix this bug and restore my entries!!!

I love this little app. Its simple, easy to use and has several nice extra features that make it a pure pleasure to write in. When a recent update caused my previous entries not to display Carla helped me and figured out the problem. It was very simple. The best technology enriches your life without difficulty or stress and this great app qualifies. I especially like the programmable reminders that give me a chance to think about what Im grateful for each day.

I love that this app is created by a normal human. But that means the updates can sometimes get screwed up. After the tragedies of 2012 and 2015 (when we all thought wed lost our entries), its even better than before. Maybe its a way for us to learn forced gratitude in the face of adversity? ;)

I love this app. When an error happened that upset everybody, they kept their cool and worked around the clock to fix it. Couldnt possibly be happier. Highly recommended!!

Every time I update the app, entries are deleted. I even paid for the new one and all my old entries gone. Pretty sure Im done with this app. Too disappointing.

I can write an entry but then nothing gets saved. My home screen doesnt even work. Too many bugs.

Ive only been using it for 3-4 days and I find myself complaining and dreading life less. It really does have a positive effect on your outlook of life. Must try!

This seemingly simple concept that retrains your brain to think positively, thereby making you feel happier, is shockingly hard to do in our ever busy, hectic lives. Buying this inexpensive app makes it easy to document daily and avoid the harassment of the in-app purchases of the “free” apps. The only pop-ups are friendly and cheerful reminders to document, including on my apple watch. It’s easy. It’s straightforward. It’s effective. It’s an excellent investment that I highly recommend.

I love this app! I have seen how this little app has made positive changes in my life. Its simple yet effective! And I thoroughly enjoy scrolling through my month, and revisiting some wonderful moments of gratefulness, that I would have forgot about had I not logged my moments in this app.

7.6.1 version doesnt even install since Dec 15. Was hoping it would be fixed by now but its not. Its Jan 3rd. I paid for this app.

Teaching myself to focus on the positive things each day has really turned my life around. Having this different perspective has made me a better person in all aspects of my life!

Deletes all data anytime theres an iOS update. Contacting support is impossible, at best. So disappointed that my memories are lost and no one, developer or customer support, will acknowledge my requests for help. Click on tab for past reviews to get a real idea of how poor this app is dealing with updates.

Just a digital planner which you basically have already built into your iPhone.

I started using this app on January 1 and have used it everyday. Today I logged in and all my data that I entered for the last 4 days is gone. I have not changed my user account, and I logged out and in again, and its just gone. Do not waste your time on this.

Contacted support after i entered several days worth of data (in 1 sitting), and it apparently never got stored on their servers since the next time I started the app, it wasn’t there. Logged out, logged back in, uninstalled, reinstalled app, still nothing. Contacted support, after several back and forths they basically told me I must have logged in with some other login details since their app doesn’t delete data. Except I only have 1 login account I’ve been using for this, and they kept reiterating their app doesn’t delete data (except apparently when it does). Went out and bought a different app which is much better, same price, and you can tell if it’s synced or not. Don’t waste your money or time on this one.

Its a new year and looking to get back to my gratitude journal but it wont even complete its update. Cant open, cant reload or retry it. Frustrating.

Simple features, easy to use. However, neither matters when you lose your data. Months of entries disappeared and could not be restored. Despite that initial occurrence, I decided to continue to use the app. But, unfortunately, new daily entries would disappear. This app is not worth using.
